“Great location for stargazing, gorgeous night sky! Perfect little get away. Super cute house, great communication, accommodating, local tips, great information on household. We will definitely stay here again if we are ever passing through! Hosts were great and House was exactly what we were looking for! ”

“This is the most amazing Airbnb that we have ever stayed at, and canʻt wait to come back! The dome is indeed SO delightful, and the energy you feel the moment you step foot in the place is amazing. The meditation/shrine/study loft above was fun to explore, and the kitchen had everything we needed for our short stay. We especially appreciated the unique construction of the dome, and the focus on conservation. Our host was so wonderful and communicative, and we loved all of the small touches and helpful hints inside the dome. If you are in Crestone, you absolutely must stay at the dome!”

“The Dome house was definitely Delightful! Spafford provided timely responses to all questions and checking in late (after 11pm) was so easy. The motion sensor outdoor lighting and video on how to operate the lockbox were great. The house is super fun and what a fantastic location!”

“This is one of the nicer Airbnb’s that I’ve stayed at, very unique shaped, very clean, nice amenities, super easy check in, very responsive hosts, the bed & linens were super comfortable but more than anything, the place was incredibly PEACEFUL. The photos don’t do it justice, it is much nicer & bigger than it looks, the shower is great, lots of towels, blankets & pillows, mountain views, wildlife outside, it’s a very nice quiet place to relax. There’s no AC but if you close the blinds on the windows before the sun gets hot & open the windows for the breeze, it’s very comfortable, plus there’s a fan you can use too. I highly recommend The Desert Sage restaurant, (ginger chicken soup) & The Cloud Station for coffee & great breakfasts, both less than ten min away. Skip Crestone brewery. Lots of brochures, travel info & maps are at the house, some really neat little touches & details are in the house for you to discover.”

Such a unique place to stay, very cool architecture! There were ample amenities and simple extra touches that made my boyfriend and I feel like we really had everything we needed right in the home. Communication with Spafford was excellent throughout the entire process!

“We couldn’t have stayed at a better place in the Baca! The dome was easy to find, beautifully laid out and surprisingly spacious. Spafford was an amazing host. He was easy to get in touch with and always replied promptly to our emails. He had great suggestions for the drive from the Denver metro area as well! We will most definitely stay here again the next time we are in Crestone.”

“Beyond delightful! This adorable home rests in a stunning location. Spafford is a great host, available, caring, and responsive. The space felt like home the moment I arrived, and I was very sad to leave at the end of my stay.”

“One of the best bnb’s we’ve stayed at. Absolutely above and beyond when it comes to thoughtful touches and clear concise instructions & information about the home and its amenities. Would recommend to anyone passing through Crestone, the delightful dome preserves and displays the magic of this small town perfectly. Thank you so much!”

“[The Dome] is absolutely beautiful. It’s the most unique place we’ve stayed, with gorgeous views of the mountains. We even had a deer come up to us while we were sitting outside. Super cool, I’d definitely stay again!”

“Wow what can I say – The Dome was truly beautiful and lived up to everything and more. Spafford was incredibly responsive and helpful. All around great vibes, beautiful scenery, and we even woke to a family of deer outside”

“… check in was seamless and easy for us late-night arrivers. The dome itself is magical and a great place to unwind. Great views of Crestone Mountain and lots of surrounding wildlife. No need for a TV when you have 2 giant 14ers in the backyard. We couldn’t stop staring at them! We had a hard time leaving and wishing we had never left!”

Lauren, April 2018

“The dome home was magic! From the minute we walked in the energy was amazing. The dome was so unique, clean and had absolutely everything we needed to cook. It was very quiet and peaceful in the dome. The fireplace was a huge plus. My husband and I spend a lot of time in front of it. Great places to eat, drink and shop nearby. I will be booking again soon!”

“Everything about the Delightful Dome was indeed delightful. We had such a relaxing stay at this unique house. It’s even better than the photos! It was cozy and warm and fully equipped with everything we could need and immaculately clean. Spafford was helpful and communicative throughout the whole experience. Overall it was an incredible experience and we will definitely be back!”

“… responsive and incredibly informative host. The dome home is the perfect for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat. The house is very clean and has many windows to view the beautiful surrounding landscape. Our favorite space was the meditation room upstairs and the stairs were a gorgeous piece of artwork in itself! The entire home is filled with quirks that bring joy and a state of serenity to anyone who enters. The town of Crestone is lovely too and includes great places to get groceries and to buy gifts, as Spafford specifies on his website. The dome home is close to Sand Dunes National Park and there is also great trail in Rio Grande National Forest that is a short drive/walk away.”

Katherine, March 2018

“The ‘Delightful Dome’ truly is. My only concern with letting others know how nice it was is that it’ll increase the number of folks looking to stay there. Truly enjoyed it and Spafford was great.”

Joseph, March 2018

“Amazing place! You won’t ever want to leave!”

Jade, March 2018

“The dome was downright delightful! Amazing location, views, and everything you need to deeply relax. I would absolutely stay at the dome again. It’s perfect for a weekend trip to the sand dunes, local hot springs, and spiritual centers, and would also be great for a weekend of hiking in the Sangre de Cristos during the summer. Spafford was a perfect host and kept in communication during our entire visit. Highly recommend!”

“… absolutely wonderful. After sand-boarding during the day at the Great Sand Dunes, and stopping by Crestone brewery for a bite and a brew, we lounged by the wood fire stove with a bottle of wine, and it was a perfect Saturday night in the Delightful Dome. …. Crestone is a funky little town, and the dramatic mountains with the high desert landscape is quite unique! The home itself was clean, the bath tub was cool, the bed was very comfortable and overall, it’s a great little space to get cozy in.”

Sophia, February 2018

“Fantastic little place for inspiration and meditation. Very memorable and special for me. Highly suggest any of the local hot springs for visitors. Love to put my feet in the sand at this place. Super special and quality. Definitely will be back.”

Catherine, February 2018

“It can’t really be expressed how beautiful this place is. The surrounding landscape is gorgeous, and the house itself is so interesting and thoughtfully composed. It was a completely wonderful experience in all aspects. Spafford was a wonderful, helpful, and unobtrusive host! The house was sparkling clean and had everything you could need. Amazing place!”

Jillian, January 2018

“Our time in the dome was perfect. The space was clean, cozy and the surrounding views were breathtaking. Spafford was very communicative and the process was a breeze. It was difficult to tear ourselves away from such a sweet spot. We’ll be back.”

Karen, January 2018

“The Dome is in the highest part of the Baca, with wonderful views down to the valley, as well as up to the majestic mountains. We were warm by the cozy fire, and comfortable during our stay. Spafford has thought of everything, including saving our hides when I lost the key (thanks again!!). I’m sure you’ll find the place clean (Betsy is incredibly sweet and does an amazing job), inviting and a quiet sanctuary. We’ll be back.”

Scott, January 2018

“My girlfriend and I stayed in the dome for four days and three nights while visiting the nearby Great Sand Dunes National Park. The house is stocked with whatever you need besides food, which you can get yourself in Crestone or a nearby town. Everything was perfect as far as we experienced. The wood stove was very nice to give the place a more rustic feel and keep us plenty warm. The water filter was easy to use, and the heated floor was great after aday out in the cold. Also, there were amazing views of the stars at night right outside the door. We could actually see the Milky Way! We just settled in and relaxed the first day, but went to a hot springs for a beautiful sunset, the sand dunes and a waterfall, and toured a few of the religious structures scattered around Crestone on our other days. The Elephant Cloud Market and Cafe were very nice with lots of healthy and vegan options (My girlfriend is vegan and I am not). Spafford was very communicative leading up to the trip and was willing to answer any questions quickly. I would definitely recommend staying here!”

Daniel, January 2018

“Beautiful space with attention to detail that made the stay cozy and comfortable. Lovely loft encouraging mindful relaxation and surrounded by peaceful quiet mountain majesty. Highly recommend.”

Caroline, January 2018

“Sweet space for contemplation and rejuvenation! I was expecting more funkiness and this place is beautiful and has a some refinement as well! We had very cold weather and the space was always cozy and nearly impervious to the winter wind. We loved the wood burning stove even though we never needed it to stay warm. The loft is really fun and great for yoga and meditation. There is plenty of space to not be disturbed by neighbors and the views of the Sangre de Christos are amazing!! The space is filled with all the things you may have forgotten far beyond your typical hotel room. The kitchen is equipped for cooking with a wonderful and brand new big gas range. All of that was made even better by the affordable cost. Would definitely return here. Awesome space!!”
